Day 4-Powered by Peach Cobbler
March 22- Day 4

The Trail Magic was being provided by a Ministry from Tennessee. As we walked up, the guy gave us the spiel. Hand sanitizer or bleach water (if preferred) to start. Then bananas, apples, oranges, fruit snacks, hot chocolate, coffee, candy, and best of all...peach cobbler. All we had to do was say what we wanted, and they put it on our plates.
I also got hot chocolate.

See that farm below? We have now come around it to the other side. We could see it yesterday.

Pano shot of Preaching Rock. It was quite windy and chilly. I wore my hoody most of the day, for that matter.
Both Doug and I got up at our usual 7:00am. However, today we were hustling (well as much as one can “hustle” when you are a little stiff) because we had good intel that there was Trail Magic at Gooch Gap, just a mile down the trail. We were on trail at 8:30. I think we we the first out of camp.
As soon as we hit the road at Gooch Gap, we spotted the Trail Magic.

They even had chairs to sit in. They also gave away free bandannas. I had decided I was going to get another bandanna when I got to Neel Gap and Mountain Crossings Outfitter. Now I don’t have to! And they let us dump our trash! This Trail Magic stuff is awesome!
Post Trail Magic, we began the climb up Ramrock Mtn. It wasn’t too bad. Nice view from the top.

From Ramrock, we climbed up to Preaching Rock. That was a little harder. The view was quite nice.

We made it to Lance Creek Recreation Site at 2:15 after 8.3 miles. Most of the “Bubble” were headed to Woods Hole Shelter. That was another 4 miles, plus you are supposed to have a bear canister there. We didn’t see any of them carrying bear canisters.
