Day 65-Part 2-Hanging Out on the Knob
Part 2 begins as we arrive at McAfee Knob in the rain.
The iconic McAfee Knob...in the rain.

Clouds and rain in the distance

See the high point to the left? That’s Tinker Cliffs. We had walked the ridge from Tinker Cliffs to McAfee Knob.

Okay, maybe some shenanigans.

Amazing or what??? This is the most photographed place on the AT.

Dusty chillaxin on the precipice of death

Our whole purpose of breaking the rules

Beautiful end to a beautiful day!

Well...hello there!
The iconic McAfee Knob...in the rain.
Sure Foot had scouted out the camping situation. See, really, you are no longer allowed to camp on McAfee Knob. I think it’s because it’s so popular, and too many shenanigans caused the powers that be to say no camping. But...one advantage of this virus is that no one is here...so...we decided to break the rules. Of course, there won’t be any shenanigans! We promise!
Anyway, we found decent camp spots and set up our tents as quickly as possible in the rain. I stowed my pack under the vestibule, and climbed in my tent. Sure Foot brought over my half of the chicken packet, and I cooked my dinner in the vestibule.
As predicted, the rain stopped. Dusty said she was going out on the Knob. I joined her. It...was...amazing! Here, see for yourself...

But wait, there’s one more thing. As I was writing this in my tent, I could hear someone moving around. I thought maybe someone else decided to camp here too. I said hello, but no one answered. I got out of my tent to find this.
Well...hello there!
Gotta go to sleep now. Tomorrow we are hoping for a sunrise!!!
